Begging, mooching, pleading, or whatever else you call it, dogs are really good at looking pathetic in an attempt to get their way.
Whether they are looking for food, to get out of trouble, or just to spend a little more time on your lap, they can flash those eyes up at us and count on us being swayed. We even us the phrase “puppy dog eyes” to describe people who can also do this. The German Sheppard needs some practice on his begging though, because, while extremely funny, it doesn’t get him what he wants.
It might be his technique. If we look at his first move when he is confronted with the possibility of going to his kennel, he begs. That could be a mistake, because the person with the camera is obviously expecting it. More over, his face doesn’t have that sad, slightly pathetic look that will melt a heart. Instead, he keeps a goofy grin on his face, as if he knows he has no hope of this working.
His second mistake comes when he tries to hide. This is a fail on many levels, and you’ll have to watch the video to see exactly why, but he definitely needs to choose a better spot to try to hide.
